OnePlus is reportedly planning to launch an affordable pair of wireless earbuds in the near future, and a new leak suggests that these earbuds are on the way, under the Nord series branding.
According to 91mobiles, the earbuds called OnePlus Nord Buds 3r have passed the regulatory process in Canada, a strong indication that they will become official very soon, and not just in Canada but everywhere where wireless earbuds are sold.
The presentation doesn’t really tell us much about these earbuds, other than to suggest that they’re almost here. We get battery capacities: 58mAh per bud (versus 36mAh on the Nord Buds 2r) and 440mAh for the case (versus 480mAh on the Nord Buds 2r).
We haven't heard too much about these earbuds as far as leaks and rumors go, but we've seen unofficial renders of the slightly more expensive OnePlus Nord Buds 3, and the Nord Buds 3r will likely adopt the same aesthetic.
Choose your buds
The OnePlus wireless earbuds series is a little tricky to get your head around, especially since there are different variations of these earbuds available in different parts of the world, so the choice varies depending on where you live.
You can get the flagship OnePlus Buds Pro 2 pair almost anywhere, and the company's newest earbuds are the OnePlus Buds 3 – they launched in January 2024 with the OnePlus 12 and we're still waiting for a Pro version of those. appear.
Then we have the more affordable series, currently headlined by the OnePlus Nord Buds 2 and OnePlus Nord Buds 2r. The latter are the most affordable and miss out on some features like active noise cancellation, and it's these that will replace the OnePlus Nord Buds 3r.
You can get the Nord Buds 2 and Nord Buds 2r in many parts of the world, including Australia. In the UK, only the Nord Buds 2 are available. In the US, neither pair of Nord earbuds is available.
