Are you looking for a different day?
A new NYT Strands puzzle appears at midnight every day for your time zone, which means some people are always playing “today's game” while others play “yesterday's.” If instead you are looking for the Monday puzzle then click here: NYT Strands Tips and Answers for Monday, May 25 (Game #813).
Strands is the latest NYT word game after Wordle, Spelling Bee, and Connections, and it's a lot of fun. It can be difficult, though, so read on for my Strands suggestions.

NYT Strands Today (Game #814): The Answers
The answers to today's Strands game #814 are…
- MOSS
- ACORN
- DAISY
- PUDDLE
- FEATHER
- FINGERPRINT
- SPANGRAM: SEARCH FOR THE SCAVENGER
- My rating: Hard
- My score: 2 tracks
It's been a while since we've had a 13-letter spangram, but even though it took up a large portion of the board, I couldn't see SCAVENGERHUNT.
However, if you searched for non-game words for clues, the letters containing what became spangram contained many, so I got “revenge,” “revenge,” “avenger,” “cave,” and “hunt” long before I started searching properly; possibly this is why I took two tracks to begin with.
MOSS and ACORN were a confusing opening, as at this stage I thought our trail might be limited to a wooded environment, but DAISY eventually helped me realize that this was a much more random search, although if it was like the treasure hunt I did as a kid, you'd also need to throw a Mars bar in there just to keep me interested.
