This is a relatively simple selection of words from Connections today. I might have questions about whether yellow is easier than green (I solved the latter first), and I hadn't heard of MAGIC CITY, but that was it for complexity.
First I solve the green group of 'minor ailments', identifying that COLD, COUGH, BUG and COLD go well together and without letting myself be sidetracked by COLD and WIND or any other red herrings. Yellow followed shortly after, before the traditional break for the last two groups.
After a while I realized that SIN, WINDY and MOTOR could be followed by CITY, but I didn't have my room. However, MAGIC CITY seemed like it should exist, and in fact it did (it's Miami, for those of you who, like me, are not from the United States). I wouldn't have gotten the group of blue 'whales' any other way than the default, but once those four were down, I spotted the connection there too.
As was your day? Send me an email and let me know.

- GREEN: TYPES OF GOLF CLUBS DRIVER, IRON, WEDGE, WOOD
- BLUE: HORROR FILMS, WITH “THE” BIRDS, FOG, Omen, RING
- PURPLE: WORDS FOR SAUSAGE BRAT, DOG, FRANK, LINK
What are NYT connections?
NYT Connections is one of the increasingly popular word games created by the New York Times. It challenges you to find groups of four elements that share something in common, and each group has a different difficulty level: green is easy, yellow is a little harder, blue is usually quite difficult, and purple is usually very difficult.
On the plus side, you don't technically need to solve the final question since you'll be able to answer it through a process of elimination. What's more, you can make up to four mistakes, which gives you a little breathing room.
However, it's a little more complicated than something like Wordle and there are plenty of opportunities for the game to trip you up with tricks. For example, be careful with homophones and other puns that could disguise answers.
It can be played for free via the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile devices.
