We like to pride ourselves on our accurate estimates of big Amazon deals like Prime Day, but there’s no need to guess the date of the next one anymore: Amazon has officially confirmed that Prime Big Deal Days will be returning this October. While we don’t have an exact date yet, last year’s Big Deal Days sale started at midnight on October 10, and the equivalent 2022 sale began on October 11, so it’s fairly safe to assume that 2024’s Prime Big Deal Days will also begin in the second week of October. If it starts on Tuesday, that would be October 8, 2024.
Prime Big Deal Days will be held in 19 countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, United Kingdom and United States. However, not all countries get the same benefit.
Unlike Prime Day, where Australia had six days of deals compared to the US’s two, we expect every country to have the same 48-hour promotion. However, we expect some countries like Australia and Singapore to have an extended promotion – typically around 65 hours based on previous events – due to the fact that customers there can access deals from international retailers, including those in the US, UK and Japan.
While Amazon-branded products like the Kindle, Ring, and Echo speakers (which fill our guides to the best e-readers, best video doorbells, best security cameras, and best smart speakers) are sure to see steep price cuts, history leads us to assume we'll see a lot more than that.
On Amazon Prime Day in July, Nintendo, Sony, Bose, Sennheiser, Samsung, Apple and Dyson offered massive discounts on a wide range of products, including gaming consoles, smartwatches and the best headphones, handheld vacuum cleaners and budget phones. However, while we expect a similar offer in October, there is no specific information on it yet.
We also have our fingers crossed for discounts on Amazon's premium services. We've already seen discounts on services like Audible, Kindle Unlimited, and Prime Video add-on subscriptions for Prime deals, and with Paramount Plus' price hike this year, savings on this front would be welcome.
Make the most of October's Prime Big Deal Days deals
If Amazon's same-day and next-day delivery, constant deals, and perks like Prime Video haven't convinced you of its value yet, exclusive sales periods like Prime Big Days make it hard to ignore.
That's right, Prime Big Deal Days will be exclusive to Prime members, but that doesn't mean you have to shell out money to subscribe if you haven't already. New members get a 30-day free trial, so you can test out the service. and Get access to exclusive Prime offers without paying a subscription.
Amazon offers free domestic and international shipping on most items for Prime members, so the discounted price you see is what you get. Plus, there are a variety of Prime-exclusive coupons added regularly and lightning deals during sales events that provide even more value for your money if you keep an eye out.
However, it can take a little effort to make sure you're getting the best deals. We recommend keeping an eye on Amazon's best-selling product lists during the event to see what others are buying. You can also shop ahead of time, adding items you want to your wish list instead of your cart, so when the deal comes around, you'll be able to easily see what products are discounted. The Amazon app and these handy Amazon shopping tools also make shopping even easier and ensure you're getting a good deal.
If all that's too much work, though, just like we did for Prime Day in July, we monitor Amazon deals daily and put together a list of the best ones in our Amazon Prime Big Deal Days hub, so all you have to do is click.
