One of the biggest decisions you'll make when choosing an iPhone is what color you'll buy it in. After all, you'll probably keep this phone for at least a year (or maybe much longer) and you'll likely look at it many times a day.
So if you're thinking about upgrading to an iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, or iPhone 16 Pro Max later this year, you might want to start thinking about what color phone you want now.
Of course, Apple hasn't confirmed the colors yet, but thanks to leaks and rumors we have a good idea of the possible shades, which you'll find below.
Rumors about the colors of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus
According to previous reports, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will likely be available in the same shades, with the rumored options being as follows:
Black
We've heard from multiple sources that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus could be available in black, with both renowned leaker Ming-Chi Kuo and another lesser-known source pointing to a black iPhone 16 model.
Black is an extremely popular and common smartphone color, and it's what the iPhone 15 is available in, so it's possible we'll see a similar option for the iPhone 16.
Green
Green is a shade that both of the above sources have also mentioned, with one adding that the green iPhone 16 could use tinted glass, much like the iPhone 15's colors.
This will likely result in a rather matte and pale color, perhaps like the green iPhone 15 seen above. In any case, green is a slightly unusual color option for a smartphone, and we'd love to see Apple offer it again.
Pink
We've also heard talk of a pink iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus from the same two sources, and this is once again a color you can get the iPhone 15 in, as you can see above.
There's no guarantee we'll see the same shade of pink this year, of course, but there's a chance it will be similar.
Blue
The same set of sources has also mentioned blue, and that's also a color you can get the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus in.
If this year is a similar shade, it will be very pale, but we may see a much brighter or darker shade of blue. Depending on the shade, it could be a smart alternative to black or a fun, cheerful option.
White
The last iPhone 16 color mentioned by both sources is white, which, like black, is a very common and popular choice for a smartphone, if perhaps a little boring.
However, you can't get the iPhone 15 in white, so this would be a new shade for the year if it's offered, though some previous iPhones have come in white or off-white shades, such as the iPhone 14 in Starlight, pictured above.
Yellow
Yellow was also mentioned by one of the two sources above as a possible shade, but we're less convinced we'll see this than the previous options.
Aside from the fact that only one source has mentioned it, they don't have much of a track record either and mentioned seven shades, which is more than Apple would normally offer.
In any case, there is a yellow iPhone 15, as you can see above. In this case, it is a pale yellow, although it remains to be seen whether the same yellow tone will be available as the iPhone 16, if it exists at all.
Purple
Finally, for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus there is the possibility of a purple hue, but as with yellow, this has only been mentioned by a single source, and they don't have much of a track record.
We weren't expecting to see this, but it could be an interesting option. The iPhone 15 isn't available in purple, but the iPhone 14 is available in a purple hue, as shown above.
iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max colors rumored
As with the standard models, the Pro models will likely also be available in the same shades as each other, but the selection will likely be different than the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, as you can see below.
Black space

Reputable leaker Ming-Chi Kuo and @VNchocoTaco have mentioned a black shade for the iPhone 16 Pro line, which could be marketed as Space Black according to one of these sources.
It might look like the iPhone 15 Pro in Titanium Black or the iPhone 14 Pro in Space Black, both pictured above. Both shades have a slightly greyish edge, but whatever shade of black you choose, it's likely to be a smart, understated choice.
White or silver

Both of the aforementioned sources also mentioned a white iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, though Ming-Chi Kuo adds that it could be silver.
You can see the iPhone 15 Pro in Titanium White and the iPhone 14 Pro in Silver above, and this new shade, if it exists, could very well be similar to one of these.
Like black, white and silver shades are common and apparently very popular, so this option is likely to be a hit.
Pink
Of all the rumored shades for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, pink is the only one that could actually offer a bit of color.
This shade has been leaked by the same two sources, and this isn't a color you can get the iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max in, so it's a bit different on that front, too.
You can, however, get some iPhones in pink or rose gold hues, like the pink iPhone 15 pictured above. We expect the pink shade leaked here to look a little different, though, as it has a different name.
Grey/Natural Titanium
Finally, the same sources also mention a grey shade, which could be marketed as natural titanium. If so, it could look similar to the iPhone 16 Pro in natural titanium, which you can see above.
It's a fairly light grey, which makes sense since the line's Black Titanium is more of a dark grey, so Apple would want to keep the two options distinct.
