Prime Day is almost over and ends at midnight tonight, so today is your last chance to get Amazon's TVs at a great price. There's no better model than the Ember Mini-LED and right now you can get the 55-inch Ember Mini-LED for $499 (was $819.99) on Amazon US.

In the UK, the same 55-inch Ember Mini-LED costs £599 (was £849.99) on Amazon UK. While it is a very good TV, Amazon Prime Day is the only time to buy it. Any other time, it's overpriced and faces stiff competition from other budget mini-LEDs from TCL and Hisense. But, during Prime Day, this TV is great value for money.

I have my full thoughts on this TV below, but really, its strong point is how good it is for sports right out of the box. So if you're still looking for a TV for the World Cup (there are still more than three weeks left in the tournament), this could be the TV for you.

I've tested most of Amazon's TVs and the Ember Mini-LED (formally known as the Fire TV Omni Mini-LED) is easily the best of the line. I gave it four stars in my review, but one of its highlights was not what I expected.

When testing sports on TVs, I often find that I have to make a lot of adjustments to the motion settings, unless it's one of the better TVs (and even then, there's still work to be done). So I was surprised and impressed by the precision of the Ember Mini-LED's movement right out of the box.

I often avoid the Sports picture mode on a TV because its motion can be heavy and the picture can appear artificial, with textures that are too sharp and colors too bright, but the Ember Mini-LED mode was ready and while watching a football game on Prime Video, the action looked smooth, with no signs of artifacts and the picture was solid throughout. A pleasant surprise for a mid-range mini-LED.

For other content, the Ember Mini-LED produces natural yet punchy colors that looked great in movies like The The Earth. For darker movies, its contrast was solid, and while black tones weren't perfect, they were pretty decent. Textures, on the other hand, were very good, balancing a realistic and crisp look.

The Ember Mini-LED has a feature set that rivals the best gaming TVs. Supports 4K 144Hz, FreeSync Premium Pro, Dolby Vision and ALLM gaming. It has a measured input delay time of 13.4 ms and during playback Battlefield VI found moving between targets and moving around to be fluid with fairly quick response times.
