Dragon House The third season is officially in development at HBO.
Revealed in a press release today (June 13), just three days before Dragon House The second season is unleashed on the world, HBO confirmed that a third season of the popular high fantasy series was in the works.
In a statement accompanying the renewal of the acclaimed Max show, HBO's director of drama series and movies Francesca Orsi said: “George [R.R. Martin], [showrunner] ryan [Condal]and the rest of our incredible executive producers, cast and crew, have reached new heights with the phenomenal second season of Dragon House. We are in awe of the dragon-sized effort the entire team has put into creating a spectacular second season, with a scope and scale rivaled only by the heart of it. “We couldn't be more excited to continue the story of House Targaryen and see this team shine again in season three.”

Dragon HouseThe season three renewal comes nine days after Condal, who is also a co-creator of the series along with Martin, told TechRadar that its sequel season was already in the works. During that interview, which took place on June 6, Condal explained that he and his fellow writers wanted to “be prepared” to start working if the third installment of the series received the green light, before adding: “They haven't picked us up for production still but, as we did last year, we like to be ready when [HBO executives] Say yes… I hope they do.”
Clearly, HBO was listening and granted Condal's request. However, as much as I'd like to take credit for the show's revamp, he didn't exactly need my help. In fact, the game of Thrones The prequel series has been a huge success for HBO since its debut in mid-2022. In fact, at the time, its success showed that the studio's television adaptation of game of Thrones was far from dead, although Max, formerly known as HBO Max, did not take full advantage of the series' enormous popularity following the release of the first season. With Dragon House The second season, one of the 10 Epic Shows I Can't Wait for in Mid-2024, is coming in a matter of days (at the time of publishing), let's hope Warner Bros. Discovery learns from that mistake.
Before one of the best sophomore outings from Max's shows is released, be sure to read our spoiler-free review of Dragon House The first four episodes of Season 2. Then, find out why Condal has championed Season 2's eight-episode arc, which is two entries shorter than its predecessor.
Dragon House Season two will premiere on Max (US) on Sunday 16 June and on Sky/Now TV (UK) and Binge/Foxtel (Australia) on Monday 17 June. New episodes will air weekly.
