Apple TV Plus has announced sweet news: the hit mystery thriller Sugar returns for season 2.
Before seeing Colin Farrell as ruthless Gotham criminal Oz Cobb in the penguin, was on the right side of the law playing Los Angeles private investigator John Sugar, who is tasked with finding Olivia Siegel, the granddaughter of a legendary Hollywood producer. As Sugar digs deeper into the case, he uncovers dark Siegel family secrets that could put him in danger.
Sugar landed on a top streaming service earlier this year, with ScreenRant hailing it as “one of the best neo-noir thrillers in years.” Before its debut, Apple promised that the show would have a “contemporary” and “unique” take on the private detective genre, and it certainly stayed true to that statement. Thanks to a wild mid-series twist, the genre-bending Sugar soon broke into the utopia of Apple TV Plus' hit sci-fi TV show.
