Timeless fashion and modern trends merge at the 77th Cannes Film Festival

The current 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival in France has once again proven to be a spectacular display of haute couture and glamour. The event, famous for its red carpet extravaganza, did not disappoint as celebrities and fashion icons showed off their most stunning ensembles.

During the jury members' photo op on day one, Eva Green wowed viewers in a structured Vivienne Westwood suit, which oozed sophistication. Lily Gladstone opted for a sleek Gucci shirt dress, accessorized with stunning platforms, showcasing a blend of modern and traditional aesthetics.

The 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival was a showcase of fashion and glamour. Eva Green dressed Vivienne Westwood, Lily Gladstone chose Gucci and Meryl Streep dazzled in the Michael Kors collection as she received an honorary Palme d'Or. Bella Hadid and Anya Taylor-Joy attracted attention. This year's Cannes red carpet will also feature several Bollywood celebrities.

Meryl Streep wore a white double crepe sablé jacket, matching Samantha pants and a navy blue satin Gansevoort minaudière, all from the Michael Kors collection, to receive an honorary Palme d'Or at the 77th Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday 14 May 2024, in Cannes.

On the second day of the festival, Bella Hadid continued her homage to old Hollywood glamor with a modern twist. Her black dress featured a feather bust and sheer gloves, accented by colorful gemstones. Throughout Cannes, Chanel hosted an intimate evening attended by close friends. Tilda Swinton, dressed in a navy silk ensemble and flat velvet mules, caught the eye with a ribbon tied over one eye, adding a dramatic touch. Marion Cotillard also made an appearance, wearing her third Chanel look of the week, highlighting her timeless elegance.

Helena Christensen, the iconic 90s supermodel, made a grand entrance that reaffirmed her legendary status.

Other notable appearances included Anya Taylor-Joy in custom Dior couture, Sabrina Elba in Fendi couture, Greta Gerwig in custom Armani Privé, and Naomi Campbell in Chanel couture from the spring-summer 1997 collection.

On May 15, India's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Secretary Sanjay Jaju along with Indian Ambassador to France Jawed Ashraf inaugurated the Bharat Pavilion. This important event marks India's continued presence and influence at the Cannes Film Festival.

This year's Cannes red carpet will also feature several Bollywood celebrities including popular actresses Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kiara Advani, Aditi Rao Hydari, Shobhita Dhulipala and more, adding to the diversity and global glamor of the festival.
