Caroline Belhumeur took her resort collection through two distinct chapters: vacation and rugby.
For the Christmas side, she channeled Nicole Kidman's modern, moody vibe from the 2024 film “Birth,” mixed with Glenn Latchford's visuals of Amber Valetta. “This kind of mysterious woman,” Belhumeur said during a tour. “She's a little broken, in a cinematic sense.”
The mystery of the collection is seen in Belhumeur's carefully considered details: sheer panels on the skirts, removable colors with sculptural buttons or the perfect white button-down shirt. Simplicity is key, but subtle details elevate his work. He completed the line with burgundy sequins on a pencil skirt made “Vince style,” a little sheer with a higher leg slit, he said.
The second part takes your client into the mythology of rugby, going beyond the festive. Here, the fabrics speak for themselves, such as the striped rugby polo pieces made of silk, both for a knit collar top and a cascading skirt, reinventing a classic with a different twist. Boxy cardigans with trim, a subtle university nod and the perfect piece to combine with one of their utility pants with small rivets and topstitching.
The variety of fabrics is strong: knotted, cocooned and even a very nuanced version of an animal print. It's all about details, which is Belhumeur's special sauce. It's what makes a Vince piece stand the test of time (without shouting) in a modern wardrobe.
