Roksanda Fall 2024 Runway Review, Fashion Show and Ready-to-Wear Collection

Roksanda Ilinčić took a wild, beachy vacation in the south of France, incorporating the colors and atmosphere of Le Corbusier's small house, Cabanon, on the Côte d'Azur, into this vibrant collection.

The designer was intrigued by the rugged simplicity of the cabin, which Le Corbusier humorously referred to as his “chateau,” and by the brilliant murals and tapestries inside.

With the help of some experimental factories near Lake Como, Ilinčić used a variety of yarns to recreate those bright, abstract designs, incorporating them into dresses that wrapped around the models like blankets; a cape with a kilometer-long tail; and a line of prom skirts.

Other monochromatic looks were done in colors as fresh as the produce on a French market stall. Belted skirt and pant suits were available in shades including eggplant and melon, while a giant ruffled dress shined in citrus green.

Ilinčić and his clients are a colorful bunch. Some of the guests waiting to enter the show wore designs from past seasons, in colors like fuchsia and bright orange, and the designer herself took a bow in a dark, loose suit that she finished with a pair of bright green shoes. .

While this collection may seem dizzying and overly conceptual to some, for those craving color, it was a summer feast.
