Italian fashion house Blumarine hires David Koma as creative director

Blumarine, a renowned Italian fashion house, has announced the appointment of Georgian-born designer David Koma as its new creative director. Koma succeeds Walter Chiapponi, who left the position after just one season.

Italian fashion house Blumarine has appointed Georgian-born designer David Koma as its new creative director, succeeding Walter Chiapponi after one season. Koma, known for his distinctive red carpet designs, will debut his first collection for Blumarine in pre-season 2025. Since launching his London-based label in 2009, Koma has built up a prestigious clientele.

Koma, renowned for his signature red carpet designs, will present his inaugural collection for Blumarine with the pre-fall 2025 season.

Since launching her eponymous fashion label in London in 2009, Koma has built up a huge following and established a prestigious clientele.

“David Koma’s aesthetic captivated me from the start. I am sure that David will be able to perfectly interpret the Blumarine codes, thanks to his vision and stylistic sensitivity, characterised by an overwhelming femininity.” Marco Marchi, sole director of Exelite, Blumarine's holding company said in a statement.
