Hermès opens new store in Bahrain at Marassi Galleria

Hermès is pleased to open the doors of its new store in Bahrain located in Marassi Galleria, a new beachfront shopping destination. The house establishes its presence in the Middle East with this sixth store in the region that combines its familiar architecture with the unique backdrop of a vast desert landscape nestled between the sky and the sea. The house's sixteen trades unfold in an oasis-like setting with sandy tones and textural treatments.

The façade, reminiscent of a stone massif, features the curves and textured surfaces of eroded rocks. The only entrance leads to a large room dedicated to women's silk, with a display of jewelry and men's silk on one side and the universe of perfume and beauty on the other. In the center of the store, a vaulted ceiling rises above a circular room flanked by niches and adorned with deep blue-green wallpaper: a backdrop for jewelry and watches, as well as the universe of the home. Further on, the room is divided into masculine and feminine universes, with leather goods in the center. Semi-sheer panels crafted locally from hand-woven and knotted macrame create intimacy for each métier while preserving the open, airy feel of the design.

Conceived by Parisian architecture agency RDAI, the store's design reflects the surrounding natural landscape. Both the form and the materials are inspired by rock formations carved by the elements over many millennia. The evocation of sand and water continues on the pavement through the milky blue and beige terrazzo tiles of the Faubourg mosaic. Ring-shaped motifs reminiscent of wave waves adorn the rugs, whose colors range from deep cerulean to earthy ochres.

The store is further enlivened by a selection of artwork featuring equine silhouettes and naturalistic illustrations. From the collection of Émile Hermès, majestic Arabian horses come to life in a series of sketches and paintings by Horace Vernet. For the opening of the store, artist Faissal El-Malak's artwork When the guard crosses the street at night he animates the windows. The horse, inspired by the Faubourg balustrade, is transformed into a ribbon of ropes and catwalks from which stairs emerge to allow objects to flow between the different trades.

In this modern and ever-evolving city, Hermès invites loyal customers and visitors to discover the creativity and craftsmanship of its collections in an atmosphere that celebrates local heritage through the store's unique design.
