For Resort 2025, Kallmeyer translates nostalgia into authenticity

Daniella Kallmeyer is celebrating again and returns with her Café Kallmeyer concept and a nostalgic collection.

Resort 2025 Café partners with female-run restaurant Raf's, which offers a reinvented lunch menu (think caviar and chips). The light bites create a nostalgic atmosphere and Kallmeyer leans in.

In recent seasons, in addition to his well-documented suits, pants and knitwear, he has made several unique outerwear pieces that look vintage; Hero pieces with a story that feels unique. This season, it's a patina-worn leather jacket that exudes authenticity, imbued with a lived-in “real” feel, a core element of his work each season that he explored even deeper for the resort.

Tailoring includes hand-drawn pinstripes, vests, a covetable pants combo, and new short-sleeve tees paired with a long-sleeve tee with contrasting color stories – a bit skater girl, but luxe. A transparent black top as a layering garment, a scarf that ties perfectly over her shoulder, imitating a sweater: there is fantasy here, but a Chloë Sevigny fantasy, from the center, super fresh and carefree. It's the Kallmeyer style. The rich, neutral palette has pops of pink and yellow in separate pieces to complete it all.

“A lot [previous collections] It ended up manifesting itself in pieces made to be taken seriously; There was an element where we took outfits and made them comfortable, easy or wearable,” the proudly queer designer explained about her previous work with purpose and how it fit into her community. Resort is an evolution of her that sees her push towards new feelings that are casual, fun and with sexy touches. “This is all I need to present my best self,” she said of the energy she wants her latest work to take on. “It feels very personal because the most casual place is where you feel most comfortable. The place where you feel proud.”
