Two years of preparation work for a historic first: as night fell on Tuesday, Disneyland Paris hosted its first fashion show, organized by the emerging French brand Coperni, with American celebrity Kylie Jenner as a surprise princess.

Arnaud Vaillant and Sébastien Meyer's label has seen a commercial and social media boom in the past two years, especially since Belgian singer Angèle wore a Coperni jumpsuit to the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics.

The two French designers have chosen to close this season's Paris Fashion Week by inviting the entire super-rich and extravagant entourage of contemporary fashion to the esplanade of the fairy-tale castle of Disneyland Paris.

Light shows, fountains, fireworks and film music transformed the parade into a deliberately “magical” experience.

“People don't know how small Coperni is, but they sure know how big Disney is,” Vaillant joked in his final salute.

It was a three-act show, starring children, princesses and “evil” characters.

Childhood was evoked by looks full of pins and jeans decorated with numerous small accessories, while the “villains” were presented in all-black faux leather suits with roll-up collars.

Coperni princesses were reimagined in sexy outfits with knee-length pastel crinolines and the knitted jumpsuits that have made the brand a success, like the one worn by Angèle.

The famous influencer and businesswoman Kylie Jenner (who has 396 million followers on Instagram) closed the show with a stunning gothic princess outfit.

The after-show party, held at the Space Mountain attraction, must have had the princes and princesses of fashion dancing into the wee hours of the morning.
