Auralee RTW Fall 2024 – World Water Day

On a particularly wintry day in Paris, Ryota Iwai's luxurious take on dressing comfortably felt like a welcoming hug or a warm home. Imagining people coming home from work to relax, she paired typical office pieces with perfect knits and voluminous outerwear to wrap around the body, and paired them with dry cleaning bags to accentuate her theme.

Their references were like familiar friends – tweed jackets, wool coats, sweaters that doubled as scarves – elevated by their distinctive vision of fabric development, with innovative wools and high-end blends developed in-house.

Their boxy silhouettes were paradoxically sharp yet soft, with tailored suits in alpaca tweed and outdoor jackets cut from faded canvas in unusual hues. Fluffy mohairs and combed melted wool offered texture to her sportswear and column dresses, and bonded wool outerwear combined consistency and delicacy, elevating parkas and bomber jackets.

Her color palette was backed by a multitude of comforting browns and grays and sprinkled with dusty pastels and the occasional bright pop of turquoise, purple and red.
