Seven different countries had clubs in the draw, although there were no representatives from Germany or Italy, after the big five European countries provided all the quarter-finalists last season.
UEFA also made the pairings for the semi-final draw, with a possible clash between Chelsea and Barça on the horizon if both beat their quarter-final rivals.
Chelsea were eliminated in the semifinals by Barça last year and lost 4-0 to the Spanish team in the 2021 final.
With Hayes set to leave the London club at the end of the season, this is his last chance to win the only trophy that has eluded him during his time at the club.
The first legs of the quarterfinals are scheduled for March 19 and 20 and the second legs will take place on March 27 and 28.
The first leg of the semi-finals will be played on April 20 and 21, and the second leg on April 27 and 28.
