Liverpool manager Klopp’s missing ring found by camera crew

Jurgen Klopp’s joy at seeing Liverpool claim a big Premier League victory turned to dismay when he briefly lost his wedding ring in the post-match celebrations on Monday.

It took the sharp eye of a television cameraman to locate the ring in the middle of the Anfield pitch. A relieved Klopp responded by kissing the ring in front of the cameras.

“I had a huge shock,” Klopp said, “but he’s back.”

The incident occurred moments after Liverpool’s 4-2 victory over Newcastle United which left Klopp’s team three points clear of Aston Villa in the standings.

Klopp had congratulated his players and was heading towards the fans while applauding, before realizing he was no longer wearing his wedding ring. He walked around the grass near where he was, and even asked a butler if he wouldn’t mind helping in the search.

The person operating the camera for British broadcaster Sky Sports told the Liverpool manager where the ring was.

“My God, that would have been really horrible,” Klopp said. “I lost him once in my life; I needed a professional diver because I was at sea.

“Every once in a while, when I lose a kilo or two, it doesn’t fit me anymore.”
