To the editor: I was pleased to see that Brian Colbert is doing forest fire prevention and disaster preparation a priority in Marin County (“As Trump fights diversity, this black legislator is making history in Marin County.” June 5). For many years, I have traveled to visit a friend who lived in the area at the foot of a large hill of dry grass. The idea often occurred to me that with basically a road, Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, inside and outside, a fire would condemn us all, since the road would be blocked with people who tried to flee.
