To the editor: The last line of the article by Nour Khalil Abushammala (“Outside the food and under a constant attack, the gazanes are dying every day”, April 29) Pursues me. “How did you let this happen?” I don't know.
I know how horrible war, anger and pain of the families of the hostages taken by Hamas, along with the pain of those who live in terror in Gaza. I know that the fear of those of the United States, especially young adults, to speak against war.
I know that although I am lucky to personally distance myself from this horrible war, it is more than discouraged and depressing daily. If it is a comfort to Abushammala, many have not forgotten Gaza. We simply feel helpless, desperate and scared.

To the editor: Gaza's tragedy is found before the world. The innocent suffer. But the opinion article is missing is the role of Hamas by perpetuating the tragedy for political purposes.
Hamas leaders must enter exile. Hamas Range and Archive members must leave their arms. The international community must support the traumatized Palestinian people and support their rights to their own homeland as a Pacific neighbor of Israel.
