To the editor: It is argued that Adolf Hitler's ruin in the World War II was his ignorance of the impact of Russian winters on his thorough and hungry troops. Napoleon Bonaparte had his deserved in Waterloo, and Richard Nixon was undone for the Watergate scandal and resigned in disgrace.
These leaders who were once powerful and apparently invincible were defeated by their own bad decisions and arrogance. You could say that each of these people did not learn the lessons that provided the story.
If the past is a prologue, then President Trump can be found once again accused for his obsession with compensation (“The former director of the FBI James Comey accused of lying to Congress and obstruction,” September 25).
In his search to see the prosecution of former FBI director James Comey, Trump caused the dismissal or resignation of experienced and respected prosecutors who refused to cooperate. Then he brought a general prosecutor (who has been described as unfortunately not qualified) to make his offer.
An unconstitutional act by Trump? Abuse of power? Time will say it.

To the editor: Some images are worth 1,000 words. But only 11 words Comey spoke after his accusation painted a disturbing image while offering an urgent challenge: “We will not live on knees, and you shouldn't.”
The worrying image that comes to mind is Atty. General Pam Bondi and the United States prosecutor, Lindsey Halligan, folded the knee before the president in the Oval office, just before going to the Grand Jury. This is not difficult to imagine in the midst of praise and daily effusive adoration for Trump of his Cabinet and Congress members.
Strong support is one thing, but unquestionable loyalty and the independence and power of giving up a man is a recipe to destroy our three -branch democracy.
The original and unforgivable sin of Comey was telling Trump in 2017 that, instead of knee loyalty, it would only be loyal to the Constitution and truth. Now he is paying the price and also our country.

To the editor: What an ironic. Trump, a convict criminal who turns out to be the president of the United States, wants New York Atty. General Letitia James, Senator Adam Schiff and Comey face justice. It is curious how these are all the people who disagree with him.
