Socal Police officer accused of sexual aggressions in service


A Menifee police officer was arrested under suspicion of committing sexual assault while he is on service, according to the department of the Riverside County Sheriff.

The Menifee Police Department received a complaint claiming sexual assault of one of its officers, stimulating a preliminary investigation that pointed to the 32 -year -old officer, Juan Pesina.

PESINA supposedly committed sexual assault during an investigation in service. There were other assaults in service, as well as alleged out -of -service incidents, in 2023 and 2024, according to researchers. He had been an official of the Menifee Police Department since December 2022, according to the agency.

It faces positions that include rape, sodomy and forced oral intercourse, according to officials.

After his preliminary investigation of PESINA, the Menife Police notified the Sheriff Special Victims Unit, asking for help to conduct an impartial and independent investigation, “said Police Chief Chris Karper in a video published by the Police Department.

The authorities arrested the officer on Tuesday in a court in Murietta, according to the statement. After being aware of the accusations, said the department of the Sheriff, the officers used a raid order to comb through their Menife residence and their workplace and found more evidence that supported the charges.

“While we are deeply disappointed with the actions of this individual, they do not reflect the values, integrity or professionalism of the Menife Police Department, their leadership or the officers that serve this community with honor every day,” Karper said. “We understand the impact that this news can have on public confidence. Let me assure you that we are committed to responsibility, both externally and within our own ranges.”

The case is still under investigation, and the authorities believe there could be more victims.
