In women's soccer, it is not uncommon to see teammates dating each other.
United States Women's National Team members Ali Kreiger and Ashlyn Harris were married for four years before they began divorcing last year.
Overseas, Chelsea FC Women teammates Jess Carter and Ann-Katrin Berger are in a relationship.
However, his manager, Emma Hayes, does not approve.

“Player-coach relationships are inappropriate, player-to-player relationships are inappropriate…” Hayes said earlier this week.
“One player is in the team, one is not in the team, one may be in the last year of his contract, another may not be. We all know this, those of us who have been in women's football for a long period of time “Those things have been happening in the locker room for a while. Long term, it would be ideal… where you don't have to deal with that.”
Carter, of course, caught wind of those comments and wasn't a fan. He liked a series of posts on X, formerly Twitter, that criticized future USWNT manager Hayes.
“By the way, you don't have to justify what Emma said, it's the wrong answer no matter how you look at it. There is a fundamental difference between player-player and player-coach relationships and that's a power imbalance. She could have said anything anything but that,” a post that I liked read.

“[I]”If I really thought player x player relationships were inappropriate, I probably wouldn't have signed the well-known girlfriend of my club captain for a world record fee.” said another.
After Carter's likes circulated, Hayes revealed that the two had a one-on-one chat and she addressed the rest of her players.
Hayes, via ESPN, said he “disappointed me” with his original comments, but added that he doesn't “take back those things.”
However, “even if we have disagreements in life, we should not express them publicly.” Hayes cited how the players came together for a hard-fought 3-1 victory on Friday, proving that disagreements don't have to result in negativity on the field.
