Actor Jonathan Tucker helped rescue a neighbor's family in Hancock Park on Sunday night during an attempted home invasion that was confirmed by The Times.
The suspect had entered the residence but then fled, an LAPD representative said Tuesday. Officers who had been alerted to a “hot loitering” arrested a man in his 30s. That man was detained without incident.
Tucker's rep confirmed the “Westworld” actor's participation but said the actor was not “participating on the interview front.”
Tucker called 911 around 6:20 p.m. after noticing someone banging on doors in his neighborhood, police told Los Angeles Magazine.
Shortly after, the 42-year-old “City on a Hill” veteran saw a neighbor's front door open and sprang into action. In video obtained by KTLA, screams could be heard coming from inside after the suspect entered but before Tucker arrived. The actor, barefoot and carrying a bag he said was full of protective gear, entered the home just after the homeowner, who told the station he had been out but quickly returned home after receiving a notification. telephone.
Tucker took a girl out of the house and reportedly gave her to his wife, Tara. He then returned inside and found the girl's mother and baby, who appeared distraught.
LAPD showed up at the scene just minutes after Tucker's call, KTLA said.
The homeowner, who declined to be identified on camera, thanked Tucker for his response. “He took action,” the owner told the station.
He called the incident a “traumatizing experience.” There was no damage, the homeowner said.
