A wife questions her decision to sing at her husband's co-worker's wedding after apparently embarrassing him.

Taking to Reddit's popular confession forum Am I The A**hole, the 29-year-old asked anonymous users if they thought she had humiliated her partner in front of his colleagues.

The Redditor began by saying that she only knew three other people at the wedding, aside from her 30-year-old husband. According to her, guests didn't mingle much with other attendees they didn't know. The event was outdoors and a DJ played the typical wedding playlist.

“At one point, they started playing a song that is a typical white karaoke song, but it’s one of my favorites, so I went to the dance floor,” the Reddit user admitted. “When I got there, the DJ was asking people over and over to sing the song… he was pointing his mic at the guests and no one wanted to do it.”

Without thinking twice, the woman reluctantly took the microphone. “There was no open bar, so I had already had two beers, I was not drunk or even dizzy. I took the microphone and sang the song,” she confessed.

As she sang, more guests invaded the dance floor and sang along with her. When the Reddit user finished, some people clapped and congratulated her on her performance, except for her husband.

“On my way back, the groomsmen and groom grabbed me to tell me what a great job I had done, invited me to have a drink of whiskey with them, and then I rejoined my original group. I was beaming and so excited, but my husband… had a look of disgust on his face.”

When one of her husband's coworkers asked him if he'd seen the Redditor's impromptu performance, he simply snorted: “Yeah… this isn't the first time she's done something like this.”

From the Redditor's perspective, her husband seemed embarrassed by his actions. She quietly “deflated” and refused to talk for the rest of the night. The topic was never brought up by him or her.

“I felt so embarrassed because it made it seem like I acted like a complete idiot,” the original author of the post admitted. However, her fellow Reddit readers didn't think she should feel that way at all.

An overwhelming crowd of Redditors stormed the comments section, arguing that it was her husband's fault for making her feel bad for having fun.

“You were just having fun and trying to cheer people up at the wedding,” one follower said. “Looks like your singing really brought some energy to the party and you even got compliments from the groom and his team.”

Another wrote: “It’s natural to feel hurt by your husband’s reaction, especially when you were trying to have fun and bring energy to the wedding.”

“Wow! Again. Every party needs a party pooper, that’s why he was invited,” proclaimed another reader. A fourth suggested: “I have no idea if your husband had a problem with this or why. You need to talk to him.”
