TikTok star Bella Brave has died from a combination of rare health issues.
In a post shared on Instagram, the 10-year-old social media personality Kyla's mother confirmed her daughter's death on July 15, a week after she was placed in a medically induced coma.
Kyla frequently posted videos of herself and her daughter doing everything from going to Disneyland to playing with makeup. According to the Canadian radio station CJMEBella was born with three rare medical conditions: dwarfism, Hirschsprung's disease, and severe combined immunodeficiency.
Bella, whose real name was Isabella Thomson, had been suffering from complications from a lung infection. Before she was placed in a coma, Kyla wrote that Bella had been intubated in the ICU on July 9. The next day, she shared with her followers that her family had received some bad news about Bella's condition.
“The best of the best were telling us it looked really bad, but I watched closely and listened intently until I heard what hope there was that we could hold on to,” he wrote. “Bella’s lungs have been deteriorating rapidly, resembling fibrosis. They think it could be an immune response.”
She continued: “They have seen this after the bone marrow transplant, but they don’t know why it is happening now and so quickly. The only option left to help get his lungs working again is high dose steroids. We are on day two of that and day three will give us more information on how soon we might see his lung function improve.”
“Bella is in a medically induced coma. She is stable and that in itself is an improvement for now,” she added, noting that she and her husband were doing everything they could to comfort her during the ordeal. “Lyle and I talk to her, I play music for her and we read her all the cards, letters and messages that you all have sent her. We are praying and believing that we have stopped the fibrosis attack on her lungs, in enough time, that it still allows her lungs to heal and function again. This wait is beyond unbearable.”
Unfortunately, Bella succumbed to complications, much to the heartbreak of her 7.3 million followers. On TikTok, Kyla shared clips of Bella dancing in a purple dress to Loren Allred's “Never Enough.” The Greatest ShowmanShe also shared a sweet post of her daughter on Instagram.
“Our brave girl left her legacy here on earth to dance on streets of gold,” Kyla wrote in a caption on Instagram. “Bella passed away peacefully in our arms. Please keep her name on your lips, her memories alive, and her bravery in your hearts.”
She added: “Please share with us every detail of how she touched your life or helped you be brave. Bella would want you to remember that God is love, to be brave and that you are never too old to carry a stuffed animal.”
In the comments section, there was an outpouring of support and prayers for Bella.
“I have silently followed this account and watched her live her best life without complaining once,” one person wrote. “This is heartbreaking.”
Another added: “This has broken me. Rest in peace Bella. I am praying for you all.”
