The internet is going crazy for Australian Rachael Gunn at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

A series of videos of the 36-year-old athlete, also known as Raygun, went viral on social media, prompting internet users to flood the platforms with their various opinions and memes. Many people were unsure of what to think about Gunn's interesting moves.

“Incredible respect, they paid for her trip to Paris with all expenses and all the equipment for free and she will be an Olympic athlete forever,” added another. “I'm afraid she worked very hard here.”

But others were surprised that he had gone so far.

“It's amazing that Raygun from Australia is the best breaker they have,” wrote one user on X, formerly known as Twitter. “How did she get this far?”

In 2020 and 2021, Gunn was ranked as Australia's best breakdancer, however, she did not appear on the list in 2024.

Meanwhile, in 2023, the top b-girl – the colloquial term for breaker – won the Oceania Breaking Championships, where athletes are judged not only on their technical skills but also their equally important individual style and flair.

At the Paris Olympics, Gunn ultimately lost all three of her battles against her opponents and did not advance to the semi-finals. At the games, she did not score any points because none of the judges thought she outperformed any of her competitors.

In the clips, Gunn is seen wearing the Australian team's national uniform, with a dark green and gold tracksuit inspired by the nation's national colours along with a matching cap. People pointed out that the clips of Gunn waving her hands in circular motions and crawling on the ground reminded them of the way young children move. Some pointed out a move where she could be seen hopping back and forth on her wrists near her abdomen, called the kangaroo move, which appears to pay homage to Australia's national animal.

“What my nephew does after telling us all to 'watch this,'” one person said wrote.

Other aggregate“I’m sure this is difficult and impressive because it’s the Olympics, but why does it look like what a little kid shows you after saying ‘look what I can do!'”?

One person compared her to the hip-hop dancer from Bob's Burgers.

“All I can think of when I see this is the hip hop dance teacher from Bob's Burgers, but if she was from Australia and a 36-year-old woman called Raygun,” added another.
