TikTok users were left horrified by a long list of wedding rules that the bride and groom controversially imposed on their guests.

In the viral video, which has more than 3.5 million views and 228,000 likes, event planner Ivy Miller (@ivy.eventideas) lists five things one couple she worked with banned on their special day.

Many commentators called the list of rules “draconian” and declared they would “rather stay home” than attend a wedding with so many banned activities.

Miller revealed that the couple did not allow their wedding DJ to take song requests from guests. “Just go to the club if you want your songs played,” the couple allegedly suggested.

The event organizer also said the couple did not want guests to ask the photographer to take photos of them. “I did not pay tens of thousands of dollars for random portraits,” the post said.

Instead, guests were asked to join a shared photo album on a group app where they could collectively pull together photos from the day.

The couple also did not allow any of their guests to bring a date. “I will not stress or pay for strangers I have never met,” the post read.

Finally, Miller's post revealed that the couple had banned alcohol from their wedding because they wanted their guests to “really remember” their celebrations.

“No date? No alcohol? Is this a wedding?” one TikTok user asked in response to the list of rules.

“It feels more like a business convention than a wedding,” another person said of the unusual demands.

“I went to a wedding without alcohol,” added another commenter.[It was] “The most boring wedding I have ever attended. Almost everyone left by eight and most of the evening guests didn’t show up.”

“Those are the reasons people go to weddings,” said a fourth person. “I would recommend a very small wedding because then your guests won’t end up secretly hating you.”

However, other users defended the couple's requests. “It's their wedding, their rules,” wrote one person. “They don't have to go.”

Someone else added: “I totally agree with these rules. I had the same rules when I had my wedding and everyone was happy.”
