Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit and husband of tennis champion Serena Williams, says he has Lyme disease.

The 41-year-old billionaire shared the news in a series of posts on his X/Twitter account.

“I did a bunch of health tests, etc., and found out I have Lyme disease,” she wrote. “It’s crazy. Thankfully I have no symptoms, but I’m going to get treatment.”

He shared the results of his tests and continued: “Good cholesterol is too low. Bad cholesterol is fine. We need to work on that. The positive side: 822 ng/dl total + 162 ng/dl free testosterone.”

The tech mogul recalled his previous interaction with the disease, which the NHS describes as a “bacterial infection that can be transmitted to humans through infected ticks.”

“I have a loved one who had it a few years ago, it showed tons [of] symptoms, etc., and I just couldn’t understand it until he was tested and then found (and successfully treated as well),” he continued.

“I spend so little time in nature and in the Northeast, so this was quite a surprise.

“Anyway, I’m going to take some antibiotics. You can’t hold me back, tick!”

Ohanian and Williams met in 2015, when they sat together at breakfast in a Rome hotel. Williams noticed him sitting next to them, in a room full of empty tables, and invited him to join. The couple married in 2017 and have two children together.

They recently attended the ESPY Awards together, along with their daughter Olympia.

The 42-year-old hosted the ceremony, which celebrates achievements in sport, and poked fun at her friends Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

She delivered a lively opening monologue in which she also addressed the rap feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake, and attacked NFL star Harrison Butker for his comments urging women to adopt a homemaker role.

“Prince Harry and Meghan are here, let’s applaud them,” Williams said at the start of her speech.

“But please, Harry and Meghan, try not to breathe too much tonight. Because this is my night and I don’t want to be overshadowed by accusations that you are consuming too much oxygen.”

Harry and Meghan appeared to take the joke in good spirit, clapping and smiling. The joke appeared to be a reference to their continued absence from public and family events, amid reports that their presence would be a distraction.
