Ryan Reynolds has revealed why his children have passports from another country.
The 47-year-old actor spoke candidly about traveling with his four children, who he shares with wife Blake Lively, during an interview with Australian actor Hugh Jackman for People.
Reynolds shared that while he is raising his children in the United States, they also enjoy being in Canada, which is where he was born.
“My kids also have Canadian passports and they feel a real connection to that,” she explained after Jackman asked if Reynolds' children identify with different nationalities.
He free boy The star expressed that her children are proud to have those passports, after spending a lot of time in Canada.
“It's a source of pride for them,” he continued. “They also spent much of their formative years in Canada and particularly in Vancouver.”
He noted that his two deadpool Movies were filmed in Canada while he joked about how many children he had while working on these projects.
“I only had one son in Deadpool 1 and I had two in Deadpool 2 But I hope we don't do Deadpool 8 because I don't want eight children,” he joked.
Reynolds concluded by acknowledging that his children identify as Canadian, adding, “They love being from Canada. They tell people they are. 'Oh, I'm half Canadian, half American.'”

The couple welcomed their fourth child in early 2023, although they have not publicly revealed the baby's name or gender.
As part of his cover interview with PeopleReynolds also opened up about her perspective on parenthood and how her mental health has affected her. During the conversation, Jackman applauded Reynolds for being so candid about his past experiences with anxiety, before asking him if he thinks being a father has made his anxiety “better or worse.”
“I think it makes it better because you focus less on yourself and more on your kids. “I know you know it too,” Reynolds said.
She explained how her own struggles with anxiety have allowed her to recognize when her children are experiencing similar feelings of stress or self-doubt.
“Now I love having anxiety, I love having had anxiety,” she continued. “Because when I see my kids experiencing some of that, which is probably genetic, I know how to approach it in a compassionate way that really allows them to feel seen. I know I can't just fix it. And I can communicate all that to them and with them. “I am always grateful for that.”
Earlier this week, Reynolds and Lively also went on a sweet family outing with their three daughters: they attended Taylor Swift's Eras Tour concert in Madrid, Spain.
In a video posted to TikTok from the concert, Swift could be heard on stage singing the song “Betty” from her 2020 album. Folklore. In the song, the 14-time Grammy winner uses the names of Reynolds and Lively's three daughters. As Swift sang the lyrics, “You heard the rumors about Inez,” Lively smiled and pointed to her daughter to react to the name.
Meanwhile, James grabbed his younger sister's arms and bounced them in the air. As for Reynolds, he stood behind his daughters and quietly muttered the lyrics to the song.
