Rhea Singha has been crowned Miss Universe India 2024 and will represent India at the international event. The Miss India ceremony took place on Sunday, September 22, in Jaipur. At the dazzling finale, Urvashi Rautela, Miss Universe 2015, handed over the crown to Rhea, who stood out among a talented field of contestants. Rhea’s moment of victory was nothing short of magical as she graced the stage in a stunning shimmering peach-gold gown.
Following Rhea’s triumph, the Miss Universe Instagram page celebrated her momentous achievement with the perfect soundtrack, Coldplay’s The Universe. Rhea added to the excitement by sharing her victorious moments on her Instagram Stories, reposting clips from various pages, with one post in particular featuring the same iconic song. My Universe, a collaboration between Coldplay and BTS, was released on September 24, 2021, and has become a favorite anthem for many fans.
The choice of music was a perfect fit for their win, particularly as Coldplay are creating a huge buzz in India with their upcoming concert in Mumbai. Tickets for their highly anticipated concert went on sale the same day. Fans flooded the ticketing site, BookMyShow, only to be met with long virtual queues and even a brief crash due to overwhelming demand. In response to the “phenomenal demand,” Coldplay announced a third Mumbai show for their Music of the Spheres 2025 world tour.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Rhea said, “Today I won the title of Miss Universe India 2024. I am very grateful. I have worked hard to reach this level where I can consider myself worthy enough of this crown. I feel very inspired by the previous winners.”

At just 19 years old, Rhea triumphed over 51 other finalists to bag the prestigious title. Pranjal Priya bagged the title of first runner-up, while Chhavi Verg was named second runner-up. Sushmita Roy and Ruopfuzhano Whiso were third and fourth runners-up respectively.
Originally from Gujarat, Rhea is not only a beauty queen but also an actress and TEDx speaker, and has over 40,000 followers on Instagram. Now, she is gearing up to represent India on the world stage at the Miss Universe 2024 competition, which will be held later this year in Mexico.
Meanwhile, Coldplay is scheduled to perform in India on January 18 and 19 at the DY Patil Sports Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The third show is scheduled for January 21 at the same venue.
