A man named Darnell Davis candidly shared the occasion when Harry Styles complimented his outfit.

The “Watermelon Sugar” singer knows good fashion when he sees it, but ironically, Davis hadn’t recognized Styles when she noticed him.

Davis, a fashion enthusiast with more than 3,800 followers on Instagram, said she had to ask the Grammy winner who he was after Styles approached her and said, “I like your style.”

Alongside a carousel of images from the significant moment, Davis explained how he was walking through Regents Park in London when the “As It Was” vocalist approached him.

“I like the way you look,” Styles told Davis, who was wearing a multicolored abstract print two-piece outfit, an orange fedora and long beaded necklaces. “Thanks bro, you look great too,” the excited passerby said.

Although he was honored to receive the compliment, Davis had no idea the man he was speaking to was the former One Direction heartthrob turned Grammy-winning solo artist.

He continued: “We got chatting when all of a sudden a woman approaches us and asks for a photo. I’m flattered (clearly the fit was perfect) but she points at my new friend and says, ‘No, I mean with him! ’”

Much to his surprise, his duties as a “part-time photographer” didn't end there. A group of fans approached them and begged Davis to take photos of them with Styles, too.

“I was like, ‘Well, who is this guy?’ So, I leaned in and whispered, ‘Who are you?’” Davis wrote. And even when Styles gave his name, Davis still had no idea who he was.

Davis said she had to Google the singer. “Not only do I find out that he’s incredibly famous,” Davis noted, “but he was born on February 1, the same day as my mother. What a cosmic twist!”

“Moral of the story: stay open to the universe, appreciate every encounter and always be kind – you never know when you’re about to meet a global pop star (even if you don’t recognize it),” Davis concluded in her Sept. 16 post.

Online fans flocked to Davis' comments section, showing adoration for the sweet story.

“What a sweet story! The way he smiles, he must have really enjoyed your company,” said one kind onlooker, pointing to the photo of him and Style.

Another added: “Amazing story! Thank you so much for sharing it with us! It’s the best!”

This isn't the first time the “Steal My Girl” singer's name has been mentioned this week. So far, Styles has stayed out of the public eye, working on his next album after closing out his Love On Tour slate last year. But on Sept. 13, Styles appeared at SS Daley's show for London Fashion Week.

The artist was photographed in the front row alongside Anna Wintour, in his first appearance at Fashion Week in 10 years.
