It's back-to-school season, and for some parents like TikTok mom Tavia Wade, this means the first time they've sent their babies outside for the day.

Wade, a lifestyle influencer with twin daughters, couldn't help but feel nervous as she dropped her two daughters off at their kindergarten classroom in August.

However, his new teacher eased Wade's worries with an unexpected, but kind message.

On August 15, the honest mom took to social media to share a sweet note that her kindergarten teacher had given her.

“My daughter’s kindergarten teacher brought me to tears today,” she said. “I’m dropping my girls off at school for the first time, they’re twins, it’s a full-day kindergarten, I’m so excited.

“Hand me this,” Wade continued, holding a pink piece of paper taped to a packet of tissues. “I dare you not to cry when I read this.”

Wade proceeded to read the letter, reciting the loving lines one by one.

“I wink at you a little and smile when you came into my room today,” the poem began. “Because I know how hard it is to leave and I know your son must stay. You have been with him for many years and have been a loving guide. But now, sadly, the time has come to leave him by my side.

“Just know that as you walk away and the tears run down your cheeks, I will love them as if they were my own and help them learn and grow.

“So please calm down and don’t cry anymore, because I will love them and take them in when you leave them on my doorstep,” the note concluded.

Although she didn't cry while reading it out loud, Wade said she got emotional and cried a lot the first time she read it.

“I immediately started crying. My husband and I couldn’t even lift our heads until we were halfway home,” Wade said. “We were both crying uncontrollably.”

For Wade and her husband, the poem was the reassurance they needed as they dropped their daughters off at school. That said, the parents aren't childless yet. They still have a 17-month-old daughter at home.

Talking withTodayWade explained that her twin daughters had previously attended preschool three days a week for just two hours. And while it's possible they were in the same group at the time, they were unfortunately separated and placed in different kindergarten classrooms, making the transition even more difficult.

Online, moved viewers flooded Wade's comments section, praising the kindergarten teacher for her comments and sharing their own experiences with delivering children to kindergarten for the first time. Some teachers also chimed in, pointing out that the special poem was a rarity.

“Here’s a teacher. She’s good. Not many do. She’ll make your twins love school,” one woman wrote, while another mother added: “I cried at the first sentence. My baby started kindergarten this week too. That was so sweet of the teacher!”

A third said: “First year as a preschool teacher at an elementary school and I will continue doing this next year!!! I came in the second week so I didn’t see all the sad first days.”
