From Kim's copper armor to Kylie's “undone” Schiaparelli, the sisters turn the 2026 Met Gala into a masterclass in anatomical art.
The Met Gala 2026 theme, “Costume Art,” and the dress code, “Fashion Is Art,” found their most literal interpreters in Kim, Kendall and Kylie. While each sister leaned toward their distinctive aesthetic, they shared a common thread: a focus on the anatomical body. Using trompe-l'œil (optical illusion) and sculptural moldings, the trio transformed the red carpet into a living exhibition of the human form.

Kylie's 11,000-hour “unmade” masterpiece
In her ninth appearance, Kylie Jenner stunned in a custom Schiaparelli creation that looked like it was falling apart in real time. The look featured a nude-toned molded corset bodice, complete with faux anatomical details, paired with a voluminous butter-colored duchess satin skirt. The craftsmanship was astonishing: more than 11,000 hours were spent on the embroidery, which included natural baroque pearls and thousands of satin stitch elements. She cemented the edgy look with bleached brows and a single sculpted “forehead curl.”

Kendall's “Winged Victory” in White
Kendall Jenner turned to classic art for her collaboration with Zac Posen's GapStudio. Inspired by the Winged Victory of Samothrace at the Louvre, Posen draped white fabric directly onto the supermodel to create a “living goddess” silhouette. The dress featured a nipple-baring leather bodice beneath a relaxed, slightly distressed white dress, a nod to the theme's focus on “Naked Body” and “Classic Body” types.

Kim's Copper Armor and Jones' “Maitresse”
Kim Kardashian celebrated her 13th Met Gala by literally becoming a piece of sculpture. In collaboration with British pop artist Allen Jones and Whitaker Malem Creative, Kim wore a metallic copper breastplate with molded abs. The look was inspired by Jones' famous Maitresse paintings (1975-2015) and a 1960s body mold. Paired with an open-front orange metal skirt and a sleek blonde look, the ensemble blurred the line between industrial armor and couture works of art.
