John Lewis has released a sneak peek of its Christmas advert featuring a new campaign focusing on its recently revived price pledge “We'll never undersell”.
The “through the decades” ad is the first in a three-part campaign for the major Golden Quarter retailer, which will culminate with the department store's highly anticipated Christmas ad.
The first ad features archival footage and focuses on a single storefront that changes over the course of a century as it is dressed and re-dressed with products such as Roaring Twenties fashions and a toaster so innovative it took centre stage in 1925.
A cover of Paul Simon's “I Know What I Know”, sung by Laura Mvula, provides the soundtrack.
