Fans believe Hailey Bieber revealed the sex of her baby with her husband, Justin.
On Friday, May 24, the Rhode Skin founder took to Instagram to share a photo dump of what she's been up to recently, including some spring-inspired nail designs and baby bump pics. “Little cherry blossoms on my nails, little cherry blossom on my belly,” she captioned the post.
Many people interpreted the phrase “cherry blossom in my belly” to mean that she was announcing that the couple was expecting a girl. Commenters began to express their excitement over the supposed reveal and even started giving them name suggestions.
“Baby Bieber is a girl,” read one comment, while another agreed, writing, “A GIRL CONFIRMED AHHHHHH.”
Other commenters phrased it as a question, unsure if Bieber was actually confirming whether she was pregnant with a girl.
“It's a girl? Are you going to name it a flower? Or the name of a flower? asked one commenter.
“IT'S A GIRL?” another commenter questioned.
While some commenters assumed the baby would be named Blossom, some also thought the name could be Cherry.
Bieber has not yet responded to any of these suspicions.
Hailey and Justin first announced they were expecting the baby on May 9 in an Instagram post that showed the model and “Sorry” singer on a grass field with Justin visibly taking photos of his wife's baby bump and even taking some photos together.
Shortly after the announcement, the “Peaches” singer’s mother, Pattie Mallette, also took to Instagram to share her excitement about soon becoming a grandmother.
“That's why I was waiting for this day,” the 49-year-old admitted. “And now that you've shared it, I can finally celebrate with all of you. Oh my God, I'm going to be a grandmother! Oh my God.”
The singer's mother, who gave birth to Justin when she was 18, also added that she was confident the couple would make fantastic first-time parents.
“Justin and Hailey, they will be the best parents ever and I am so excited. Oh my God. Glory to God,” she said.
Hailey has also recently revealed on her Instagram what her latest pregnancy craving is: pickle egg salad with hot sauce.
Anticipating criticism, Hailey acknowledged that her snack may not be everyone's preferred choice. “Currently my biggest craving. Egg salad on top of a pickle with hot sauce, and no, you can't judge,” her caption read at the time.
Although their original meeting took place in 2009, Hailey and Justin were only seen together occasionally before announcing their engagement in July 2018.
Announcing her engagement, the “Baby” singer took to Instagram with a lengthy caption. “Hailey, I'm so in love with everything about you!” she wrote at the time. “I am very committed to spending my life getting to know every part of you, loving you with patience and kindness.”
“I promise to lead our family with honor and integrity by letting Jesus through his Holy Spirit guide us in everything we do and every decision we make. My heart is COMPLETELY and TOTALLY YOURS and I will ALWAYS put you first! “You are the love of my life, Hailey Baldwin, and I wouldn't want to spend it with anyone else.”
The couple celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in September.
