Drew Barrymore praised for having a 'simple' home

Drew Barrymore has been praised for her “simple” home as she told her fans how much she loves being a “happy little hermit.”

The 49-year-old talk show host shared a recent video on TikTok to show off the different rooms in her house. Footage of her was also included in a viral audio clip on the app, in which actress Michelle Keegan and presenter Fearne Cotton describe how much they “like staying at home”.

“I know everyone thinks it's boring, but it really isn't,” Barrymore wrote in the caption above the video, reciting audio about spending time at home. “It's the least boring. I am a very happy little hermit. I love being at home. “I never want to go anywhere.”

Barrymore's video showed her in different rooms of her house, and one clip showed her making eggs in a frying pan in her kitchen. She continued pouring her eggs onto a plate, while she stood by the stove and counter.

She was then shown wearing a beige vest, over her pajamas, and a large hat while standing in what appeared to be her room. Aside from the clothing racks on the wall, the room also had a tall, white dresser, which sat beneath two pictures on the wall.

The video then showed Barrymore back in her kitchen, before she hilariously put her foot on the filter to pour herself some water into a glass. She continued to sip from her cup as she stood in front of her refrigerator, which was next to a counter and shelves with other drinks.

She concluded the video with a clip of her sitting at her dining room table, which had a colorful tablecloth, while plates with leftover food lay in front of her. In the background, the television was also on, as she showed off her cabinet with other household essentials.

Barrymore emphasized how much she enjoyed being at home in the caption, writing, “I love staying home.”

The actor's video has quickly gone viral, with more than 425,400 views. In the comments, many fans applauded Barrymore's seemingly normal home and the way he designed it.

“I love how simple yet sophisticated you live,” one wrote.

“I love the fact that she lives in a normal apartment, does normal things and lives her best life,” another added.

A third commented: “You give off the feeling that you bought your first apartment and you are still there… so healthy and cute.”

Others in the comments agreed with Barrymore's comments and noted that they, too, like to spend time in their homes.

“There is no place like home. I just don't want to leave my house. It's my happy place. calm, tranquility,” one wrote, while another added: “Girl, I love staying home too!!! There is no drama, I can do what I want and I feel safer!!!”

Earlier this week, Barrymore shared another video of her in her bathroom, while showing off some of the products from Papatui, Dwayne Johnson's skincare brand, that she had been using to care for her tattoos. In the comments, fans also praised Barrymore for having such a “normal” bathroom and being “such an average person” in her TikTok videos.

This isn't the first time Barrymore's house has gone viral on social media. In January, he shared a touching video of her crying while he watched The wedding singer on a surprisingly small TV that fans couldn't seem to get over.

“It started this morning and I was on my way to yoga class, and I'm going to take the next one later so I can watch it,” she explained. Barrymore filmed herself lounging on a red velvet couch, wearing a cozy mustard yellow cardigan with a casual white T-shirt and black eyeglass frames. She then turned the camera around to reveal the rest of the room she was in, which was apparently empty except for the medium-sized flat-screen TV, propped up on a stand against a white wall.

While her nostalgia-filled video was met with praise from many fans, it was the size of her TV that seemed to confuse others, with one person on X at the time writing: “Why is Drew Barrymore's TV so small and bad?” Another joked: “This is exactly the TV I think Drew Barrymore would have.”
