Daniel Radcliffe has sparked rumors that he and his long-term girlfriend, Erin Darke, have tied the knot.
The 34-year-old actor spoke candidly about his family during an interview with Laverne Cox for MY! News, while walking the red carpet at this year's Emmy Awards on January 15. During the event, Radcliffe was nominated for his first Emmy Award for his role in Stranger: The Al Yankovic Story.
Speaking to Cox, Radcliffe apparently hinted that he and Darke, with whom he shares his almost one-year-old son, had gotten married when describing his partner's parents.
“Honestly, the people whose opinions mattered most to me about the movie were my in-laws,” he said, analyzing some of the feedback he received about Stranger: The Al Yankovic Story. “They're big Weird Al fans and somehow they got me involved. But they were very happy, thank God.”
During the conversation, Cox also shared his belief that they were married, noting that the actor's “wife is a huge Weird Al Yankovic fan.” While the Harry Potter The star never confirmed the marriage rumors, not correcting Fox when she called Darke his wife.
In a statement to The independent, a spokesperson for Radcliffe clarified that the rumors “are not true.” “They have been together for 10 years, hence the reference,” they added.
This isn't the first time Radcliffe has referred to his partner's parents as his in-laws. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly In December 2023, he first shared his concerns about his family's reactions to his film, which is a satirical biopic about Al Yankovic.
“After [director] Eric [Appel] and to [Yankovic], the people I'm most worried about their reaction are probably my in-laws, Erin's father, and Erin's brother, because they're big fans too,” he said. “Erin has seen the film but I'll be interested in what Ian thinks. I really hope she likes me.”
The marriage speculation also comes months after Radcliffe opened up about becoming a father for the first time with Darke. During an appearance in Today with Hoda and Jenna In October 2023, he opened up about how “wonderful” fatherhood was, months after welcoming his son.
“I think a lot of people said, 'Just get through the first six months and then everything will get better.' But I really enjoyed the first six months,” she said. When asked if it was everything he had imagined, the actor responded: “I don't know what I imagined, honestly. But its great. “It’s incredible and I’m in awe of my partner.”

Arriving at the Peacock Theater on January 15, Radcliffe posed alongside Darke, whom she has been dating for more than 10 years. For the occasion, she wore a purple suit, paired with a black bow tie, while her partner wore a purple lace dress with floral embroidery. During the star-studded occasion, Radcliffe also smiled on the red carpet with Weird Al Yankovic himself.
Although Radcliffe was up for Best Actor in a Miniseries or Television Movie, the Emmy ultimately went to Steven Yeun for his role in Beef.
