Colin Jost has made a rare comment about his relationship with his nine-year-old stepdaughter, Rose.
The 42-year-old actor praised his wife Scarlett Johansson and their nine-year-old daughter, whom she shares with ex-husband Romain Dauriac, in a recent interview with The New York TimesDuring the conversation, he reflected on meeting his current partner and how much he admired his relationship with Rose.
“I think part of the reason I fell in love with her is that she's a great mother,” she explained, before describing how she's grown closer to her stepson over the years.
“I’ve known Rose, my stepdaughter, since she was two,” Jost added. “It’s strange. You can see someone as a mother in advance.”
Elsewhere in the interview, he described his wife as “the most loving person I can count on” and noted that she is “very funny and very funny.”
“She's pretty cool,” he explained, before saying that people are often surprised when they find out how many “normal things” Johansson actually does.
“She goes to the grocery store. She’s very good at wearing a hat and she’s always moving around,” Jost added. “She’s able to blend in a little bit, but she’s able to do all these everyday things and enjoy them, too.”
After tying the knot in a private ceremony in 2020, Jost and Johansson welcomed their first child together: two-year-old Cosmo. While they continue to keep their relationship out of the spotlight, the Saturday Night Live The star has already spoken openly about her bond with Rose.
In a 2021 interview with Access to HollywoodHe talked about how excited he was to see his film, Tom jerrywith his stepdaughter.
“I’ve been waiting to see it with her when it’s officially released, like the final version, because I think she’s going to like it a lot,” he said at the time. “It’s going to be weird for her, I’m sure she’ll see me in a movie like this. She’s starting to realize the difference between actors and the people they are in real life.”
Shortly before marrying him Avengers Series star Jost spoke about how excited he was to build a life with her and their daughter. “I’m about to get married. I almost have a stepdaughter now who I love and who is a big part of my life now. I’m starting to do more and more things outside of the show. [Saturday Night Live],” he said The New York Times in 2020.
