Members of the Australian Olympic team poked fun at their new opening ceremony uniforms in a hilarious TikTok video.

On July 21, Australian Olympic footballers Mackenzie Arnold and Alanna Kennedy tried on their team's uniforms in a racy video the former posted on the social media platform. While trying on the controversial outfits, both players looked disappointed as they lip-synced to Cody Ko's viral soundbite saying, “Are we f***ing going? Are we going? I guess so…”

In the comments section, fans were quick to voice their disapproval of the bizarre outfits, making jokes all around about the quality and divisive design.

“When you have swimming at 3 and tennis at 5,” one person wrote alongside a crying emoji.

“It’s like family photos and your mom picked out matching outfits for everyone,” one person noted, while another begged them to make the most of the situation: “Please wear this and take awkward family photos.”

“I feel uncomfortable and I’m not even the one wearing the dress,” another person commented.

The uniforms will be worn at Friday night's highly anticipated Olympic Opening Ceremony, and the Australian Olympic Team uniforms were designed by Sportscraft. Women will wear the uniforms with forest green jackets and skirts, while men will pair the jackets with beige shorts.

As symbols of national pride, there is a lot riding on Olympic uniform designs, as patriotic sensibilities must be balanced with the functional demands needed for the respective sports in which athletes compete. With Paris 2024, designers have taken things to another level, with several fashion brands investing in the games.

From Giorgio Armani, who designed the Italian team's uniforms, to Ralph Lauren, who designed the Ivy League-inspired outfits for the U.S. team, there was no shortage of jaw-dropping outfits. But according to onlookers, it's the Mongolian team that deserves a stylish gold medal.

To celebrate their third year as Mongolia’s official designers for the Olympic Games, Michel & Amazonka highlighted Mongolia’s incredible culture through their luxurious uniforms for the opening and closing ceremonies. Photos of the uniforms were released on July 2 and show models Solongo-Uyanga and Kio posing in long white pleated skirts, cream pointed flats, a white deel with a black collar, and an embroidered vest.

Female athletes will reportedly pair the uniforms with red dangling earrings and black purses with intricate embroidery. Male athletes, on the other hand, will sport a similar style, except they will instead don ivory-colored pants and a blue, red and gold jacket.
