A couple of influencers said they felt “vulnerable” while staying in a glass hotel room.

In a viral video shared on the popular TikTok account A Pretty Cool Hotel Tour, Margaret Bienert and her husband Corey shared footage from their stay at the Hotel Paradiso a few years ago in Ibiza, Spain.

“When I say glass box hotel room, I mean a literal “We were very surprised when we found ourselves in a glass box in the hotel lobby. We were not prepared for the experience,” he explained.

“The only thing I knew before I started was that if you booked, you could stay for free one night. I thought it was a really fun idea, so of course I wanted to try it out.”

The couple quickly discovered several less-than-ideal quirks while lying in bed, visible to other hotel guests walking around due to the glass room's proximity to the hotel lobby. As if they were part of a piece of art, one guest even took a cellphone photo of the couple trying to sleep in their room.

“We discovered that the lights never go off and you’re basically on display all night,” Margaret noted. “Then I realized that this is an art hotel, so whoever sleeps in that room overnight is just part of the night.”

He warned anyone who wants to experience the glass room to be careful because they will be on full display.

“Here are a couple of ideas I wish I had prepared last time to entertain guests, instead of feeling completely vulnerable there all night,” Margaret said. She threw out a few ideas like trying to play the entire set list from Taylor Swift’s Eras tour, doing a live painting, or setting up a fake kissing booth, displaying a sign saying she would kiss anyone through the glass for a $5 fee.

“Either way, it seems like there’s a lot of room for creativity in this room. Unfortunately, I wasn’t prepared for it,” she concluded. “So I’ll have to let a future guest do one or two of these things, so let me know if you try it.”

The video had garnered nearly two million views as of Sunday, with many people in the comments section calling the hotel experience “dystopian.”

“I had a nightmare like this,” one person wrote, while another added: “I was screaming the whole time.”

“Haha, so sleeping in the villa,” said one viewer in reference to Island of love.

To which Margaret jokingly replied: “BASICALLY, but at least their lights go out!!!!”

In a later video, Margaret assured her followers that guests have a private bathroom while staying in the glass room. However, she also noted that the glass room was not completely soundproof, so guests could hear her and her husband, and the couple could also hear noise from the hallway.

For anyone else who chooses to stay there, he recommended bringing eye masks and earplugs.
