Three terrorists killed and five soldiers martyred in Kech operation: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Security personnel and terrorists engaged in a fierce gunfight on Saturday after a security vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Buleda area in Kech district of Balochistan.

The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that a security vehicle was attacked by terrorists with an improvised explosive device blast.

The troops immediately responded and effectively attacked the location of the terrorists, as a result of which three terrorists were killed. During the operation, five soldiers embraced martyrdom.

The martyred soldiers were identified as

  • Sepoy Tipu Razzaq, 23, resident of Sahiwal district;
  • Sepoy Sunny Shaukat, 24, a resident of Karachi district;
  • Sepoy Shafi Ullah, 23, resident of Lasbela district;
  • Lance Naik Tariq Ali, 25, a resident of Orakzai district; and
  • Sepoy Muhammad Tariq Khan, 25, resident of Mianwali district.

A disinfection operation is being carried out to eliminate other terrorists found in the area, the ISPR said.

“Pakistan's security forces, in tune with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts to sabotage the peace, stability and progress of Balochistan, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.”
