South African cricketer Shabnim Ismail, who is the only Muslim woman to have played international cricket for her country, has created history by bowling the fastest ball.

Shabnim became the first bowler to achieve this feat by bowling at 130 kilometers per hour (kmph).

She achieved the record during a match between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals in the Women's Premier League match. The second season of the league will be played in Bengaluru and Delhi, India.

The South African player represents the Mumbai Indians. Shabnam bowled the second ball of the third over at a speed of 132.1 kmph at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi.

She bowled against Australian captain Meg Lanning, who hit her pads.

This is not the first time that Shabnim has achieved this feat, as he previously also held this record. He had bowled at 128 kmph against the West Indies in 2016.

Additionally, she also bowled twice at a speed of 127 kmph during the International Cricket Council (ICC) Women's World Cup.

The 35-year-old did so after the World T20 last year.
