'Prince Harry likes to stay in the background, but he knows when to speak before Meghan'

Prince Harry has seemingly taken a backseat and let Meghan Markle do the main work.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who were recently interviewed on CBS This Morning, appear very comfortable with their equation in online clips posted ahead of the interview.

On many occasions, Harry is seen calm and collected while Meghan takes charge. On behalf of Betfair Casino, body language expert Darren Stanton says: “During the teaser for their upcoming interview, Harry is sitting there and listening to Meghan at the beginning. His eye contact was controlled and steady, which tells us he is actively listening and waiting for his turn.

“He seemed content to take a backseat as Meghan led the charge during their joint appearance, appreciating the support of having his wife by his side as her presence visibly calmed his nerves.”

The expert explained: “We later saw that Harry started to speak and he accidentally interrupted Meghan mid-sentence, as she was taking the lead in the conversation, which took her by surprise.

The expert then spoke about Harry's enthusiasm for the interview.

He said: “As Harry responded to the interviewer, we see him being expressive with his hands and arms. This shows that he was feeling excited about the answer he was giving. His non-verbal gestures reflected the passion he hoped to convey verbally.

However, the expert pointed out that Harry has the common sense to take control when he wants, since at a given moment he directs the conversation.

Mr Stanton said: “Here, Harry has shown he has the confidence and control to change the dynamic of the interview when necessary. He is not afraid to give his opinion and is willing to take a deeper part in the conversation when he feels it is necessary, just as he likes to let Meghan take a central role.”
