Matt Owens, the Co-Showrunner of the “One Piece” Netflix live action adaptation, has left the series.
In a publication on social networks on Friday, Owens announced that he is renouncing the program “take a break and concentrate on [his] Mental health “.

The Instagram account “One Piece” shared the publication of Owens in its history on Friday with the title: “You put us in a course for something really special.”
Starring Iñaki Godoy as the always optimistic pirate mono D. Luffy, “One Piece” is an adaptation of the long manga series of Eiichiro Oda. In premiere in 2023, the first season of the series followed Luffy while gathering a team while he was in his search to find a legendary treasure and become the king of pirates. They joined Luffy aboard Merry Goel Merry, Nami (Emily Rudd), Swordsman Zoro (Mackenyu), Sharpshoter Usopp (Jacob Romero) and chef Sanji (Taz Skylar).
Oda and Netflix revealed in September 2023 that the series was renewed for a second season. In the video announcement, Oda joked with the introduction of Tony Tony Chopper, the crew and fans, the fans' favorites. Since then, Oda has shared that season 2 will include stories that involve Loguetown, reverse Mountain (Twin Capes), Whiskey Peak, Little Island and Drum Island.
Owens shared the duties of the show with his fellow writer Steven Maeda for the first season and Joe Tracz for season 2. Filming for the second season of the program wrapped in February.
