Documents obtained by In touch reveal that a New York judge ordered the parties to take depositions by January 31, 2025.
In the case, the Emotions The singer's brother sued her for damaging his reputation after she wrote that his brother was “violent and sold drugs.”
He made these statements in his 2020 memoirs, The meaning of Mariah CareyIn the lawsuit, his brother sought unspecified damages.
Defending her position, Mariah said the statements she made were “true or substantially true.”
The Grammy winner backed up her claim that he was selling drugs by citing her mother, a person who knew her brother and a hairdresser.
Hearing the arguments, the court dismissed much of Morgan's lawsuit against her sister last year.
But he was allowed to claim damages for his claims about drug sales.
