Kate Middleton and Prince William made their first joint statement as the Princess of Wales recovers from planned abdominal surgery.

Kensington Palace, on behalf of Kate Middleton and Prince William, issued the statement with a video on X, formerly Twitter and Instagram.

The future queen and king shared the statement which reads: “Proud to be a colonel and colonel-in-chief of the Welsh Guards and the first Queen's Dragoon Guards. Happy Saint David's Day!”

The Princess of Wales was appointed Colonel-in-Chief of the 1st Queen's Dragoon Guards by King Charles in August 2023.

Meanwhile, Prince William became a colonel of the Welsh Guards in December 2022.

The latest joint statement came a day after the palace released an update on Kate Middleton's health that said: “Kensington Palace made the princess's recovery timeline clear in January and we would only provide significant updates. “That guideline remains.”
