James Paxton pays tribute to his late father Bill with a cameo on 'Twisters'

Bill Paxton's son, James, starred in a supporting role in Tornadoes to honor his late father.

In a recent interview with Entertainment WeeklyA 30-year-old singer and actor has spoken out about playing the role of a motel guest in a tornado scene.

“It's actually a cameo, so it's an easter egg for fans of Dad and the original. I made this for Dad,” he told the outlet.

James said: “Given the background of my father and his importance in the original and his absence,” being cast in the new film was “an emotional thing.”

It is pertinent to mention that the original Tornadoes It premiered on May 10, 1996.

Revealing her intention to land the role, she noted: “I wanted to be a conduit for his spirit there and encourage everyone on this production to success, because I know I would be. I wanted to do something that would really honour his presence in this new chapter and really do something for him.”

She continued, “And I realized there are a lot of wonderful people involved in this that I would love to meet. So it ended up feeling like the right thing to do, to be Dad's representative there.”

James also confessed that his father was his “best friend, and that’s why I never hesitate to talk about him and celebrate him.”

For those who don't know, Paxton passed away in February 2017 at the age of 61.
