'It Ends With Us' director and star Justin Baldoni shares his thoughts on making the sequel

Ends with us Director and star Justin Baldoni has no plans to direct a sequel to the film starring Blake Lively.

When asked if he was looking forward to directing the sequel, Justin said: Entertainment tonight, “I think there are people better suited for that. I think Blake Lively is ready to direct, that's what I think.”

In the new film based on Colleen Hoover's 2016 bestselling novel of the same name, Baldoni and Lively, 36, co-star as Ryle and Lily, while Brandon Sklenar plays Atlas, Lily's high school sweetheart.

The sequel would be based on Hoover's 2022 novel Start with uswhich describes the future of the three main characters.

Justin also expressed his gratitude for the film's release, saying, “This isn't my night, this is a night for all the women that we made this movie for. This is a night for Blake, this is a night for Colleen. I'm so grateful that we're here, after five years of production.”

Asked what he will remember most about the experience, he replied: “What comes to mind is not so much the work behind it, but the why.”

“The reason was that if a real-life Lily Bloom can sit in this theater and maybe make a different choice than what she was given, maybe she'll see herself on that screen and walk out of the theater and make a different choice for herself. That's why I made the movie,” she said.
