It looks like Gillian Anderson took a page from Dr. Jean Milburn’s book for her glam at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards.
The “Sex Education” and “The According to Gabriela Hearst, who designed the sex-positive piece, Anderson’s look at the Golden Globes was “vulvalically elegant.”
Pairing the dress with a simple diamond necklace and teardrop earrings, Anderson said deadline about his gaze. When asked why he decided to display his genitals on the Globes carpet, she responded, “Oh, for a lot of reasons, it’s brand-appropriate.”
From 2019 to 2023, Anderson played renowned sex therapist Dr. Jean Milburn on Netflix’s “Sex Education.” Both Anderson’s Jean and her son Otis (Asa Butterfield) help their respective clients overcome various sex-related stigmas, ranging from identity to self-pleasure to sexual assault. Since her time on the series, Anderson has leaned into the sex-positive outlook of her character.
“#yonioftheday @goldenglobes style,” Anderson captioned a video of her walking down a hotel hallway in the dress. In her caption, the Emmy-winning “Crown” actress also revealed that each of the vagina appliqués on her custom dress took more than three hours to embroider.
In another Instagram post, Anderson shared behind-the-scenes photos of her glam team getting her ready for the carpet. He also shared a photo of her sneaking away for a quick snack.
“Sometimes you just need a sausage to match your yoni dress,” she captioned her series of photos.
